Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, Texas

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, located in downtown Dallas, Texas, has to be one of the largest museums we have ever visited- and definitely one of the most fun science centers we have explored! The building is equivalent in size to a 14 story building! Plan on spending the better portion of a full day exploring this 180,000+ square foot museum filled with five  floors of exhibits, although could spend days here and still not see everything. Start at the top and work your way down the floors and through 11 exhibition halls.

He can spend hours pouring over step by step directions to make a model ship or superhero.

Providence, the state capital, is located one hour south of Boston and three hours north of New York City. My family has driven through the Ocean State several time on the way to visit family (check out my posts on nearby Newport, Bristol, and The Farmer’s Daughter) but we’ve never stayed in town for more than a day.

On our way home from celebrating Christmas in Boston, we decided to spend some time exploring Providence. Even though the weather was chilly (mid 20s-30s), we enjoyed lots of indoor and outdoor fun. Here are some of our favorite activities for family fun in Providence:
